Meeting place:
On a park map, the entrance is the Crabtree Creek Entrance, which is located on US-70 (Glenwood Ave) just west of Ebenezer Church Road and South of 540. Once you enter the park, you will be on Umstead Parkway. Follow Umstead Parkway past the Visitors Center and keep going all the way to the last parking lot. Call Terp on his cell phone at 741-9977 if you’re lost.

I don’t know if I’ll make the New Year’s Day run, but I wanted to recommend a great “running movie” to the group. Maybe you’ll get a chance to rent it this winter. It’s called “Saint Ralph” (2004) and it’s a touching movie about an adolescent who sets his sights on the Boston Marathon. Not for young kids, but it’s a great rental…

Sorry can’t make the run—planning on The Spin Cycle’s NYD ride. Hope to see you all again Saturday for another Umstead run. BelkyMD and I made it through a hot, drippy 19.2, and we’re ready for a shorter long run!
