As you know, we have been running Google advertising on the website to generate some revenue to help pay for the hosting. The traffic to the website has been increasing steadily over the last year, and now the revenue from the Google advertising is becoming substantial. I am hesitant to state exactly what the figure is in public, but its more than the cost of a few pairs of new running shoes.
So I have decided that the best use of funds is to subsidize a group bike purchase. Any current members (sorry no signups today!) will receive a discount on a new bike.
After consulting with KarenG8r and Rap Master, we narrowed the choice to the following bike:

For the current members, you can purchase a Trek Madone 5.2 for less than half of retail ($3500).
Please leave a comment and let me know by the end of the day if you will be taking advantage of the offer.

Thanks anyway, but I’m perfectly happy with my Schwinn Sprint and my Ross Mtn bike complete w/sissy bar. Speaking of bikes, is anyone going on any rides this weekend?

Herbs, How was the 1/2?
I am going to Camp Seafarer this weekend with Litl’ Squeek 2, so I will miss you guys on the run. I may try running or cycling Friday am.

How was the 1/2 you asked?…Absolutely horrible! (thanks for asking) I was chugging along fine until I finished mile #10 when my left hamstring seized while my spastic right IT band took control of my knee function. That was it for me. I then proceeded to walk 3 miles to the finish line (and another mile back home). I slithered across the finish line at ~ 2 hrs… I haven’t exactly figured out why I fell apart like that a few possibilities include muscle dysfunction from overtraining, going out too hard-too soon, and asphalt shock syndrome…I haven’t donned a pair of running sneakers since. Needless to say, I’ll be taking it easy on Saturday and hopefully biking….”Herbs the hobbler”

Herbs –
You walked three miles and still finished in two hours? Amazing! I hope you’re recovering ok. Hopefully, we’ll see you in a week or two.

Maybe there is a third grader out there that wants to start doing Tri’s so I can trade up. I am not sure there could be anything better than my litl’ red Barbee bike
Sorry to hear about your leg issues, Tommy. Karen & I were thinking of trying to get in 50 miles on the bike on Sun. Nothing confirmed yet.
Alex, I am off on Friday but the weather looks a litl’ yucky! Let me know.

Hey, guys! Sorry I am so late in voting. I am OK with BTN, but I would prefer Shelley, since it looks like it may be muddy, and this is my last training run before Boston (I am doing 18 tomorrow). Anyone run with me? I need some company for most of it! I’ll check the web tonight to see where the webmaster has us running. Man, wish I had that power.

Hmmm….that is a sweeeet looking bike…very tempting! I think I’m stuck with my current bike for at least a couple of more years…or until I win the lottery.
In light of the weather and since MitDog needs to do an 18 mile Boston training run (preferably not in the mud) several of us (MitDog, Lit’l Bit, KarenG8R) will be running from Shelley Lake on Sat. April 5. Hope to see you there!
