Group Run – Hanna Edition

September 4th, 2008 · 8 Comments

Where: Whole Foods Raleigh

When: 6:30AM

Distance: TBD

Thanks for starting the post Terp.

Saturday looks like it will be pretty juicy.

Post below in comments so we can get the run organized.

Is anyone else interested in running Sunday morning instead of Saturday morning? Unless you’re training for the OBX Marathon, Saturday’s weather isn’t looking good. See run info above.

Perhaps we can run from Whole Foods? This route probably has the smallest chance of flooding or mud.

Thoughts?

I’m looking to get in 18 starting about 6am. I was planning to start at BTN, crossing the bridge across the beltline, then retracing the route. Hope to see you all out there!

Almost all packed up for Saturday’s departure…I just wanted to tell y’all that it has been a great year running with you. I’d never been part of a running group until the MM’s and it’s been a highlight of my NC experience spending Saturday mornings huffing and puffing with you! I’ll keep you posted on the cool races in the Northeast! All the best…Herbs

    We’ll miss you Herbs!!

I’ll likely run a little later on Saturday as a certain member of my household is chomping at the bit to get in on some wind action early Saturday. Kendal and I are doing a short brick early Sunday (6:30-ish) if anyone is interested. Likely a 20-30 mile ride followed by a short run leaving from the lovely town of Morrisville.

    Watch them puddles! :)

Good luck Herbs! A northeast race sounds like a fun road trip!

My plan is to run on Sunday at 6:30 a.m. from Whole Foods unless I need to borrow Steve Carrell’s ark to get around Raleigh. Anyone else?

Tommy…. happy adventure unpacking & finding new running routes. No doubt we will stay in touch!
I am going to visit my parent to help them pack for their pending yard sale and move, but will be back for the brick on Sunday with Sarg….

Tommy, it has been fun blazing the early morning trails the past few weekends. I’m glad to hear that you’re all packed. Hopefully you are sitting back tonight on your last night in NC with a cold one and a horseradish sandwhich reflecting on the many great Mitterling Miler runs. Kat and I wish you and your family the best in your move back north. Take care buddy!

PS> I will be hittin the Umstead trails in the early morn on Saturday with weather permitting.

It was great training with you Herbs!! Your sense of humor and your words of encouragement will be missed!!

I actually enjoy an occasional run in the rain… but not too sure I will enjoy the rain with 20 – 30 mph winds!! I think I will take Terps offer to run on Sunday morning from Whole Foods. See you then, Terp!

How nice it is to know this group!! I started the morning off at 5:50 from BTN. Just after passing Graylyn, who should I run into but Belkymd heading towards BTN. He graciously changed direction and helped me up to Trenton gate. Thanks Dusty!! Then, as I neared my turnaround across the bridge, I ran into the second wave of Milers. Thanks so much guys! I made my turn, and headed back to the art museum, then on to Old Reedy Creek, back towards Umstead. I began to pick up the packs (nay, hordes!!) of Team in Training groups, who love to run 4 wide across the greenway…

A very nice morning to run in Umstead, and a beautiful sunrise as well. Hope you’re all doing well, and see you in earnest after 10/4!!!
