So I had an idea. I was thinking of doing something a little unique. Alex coining Sandbagger and all, I figured I would throw this out to the group to see who is *really* in.
Interested? Involves lots of running (duh) and some hot weather (a lot hotter then what we have been running in) – distance is about the same as 2 marathons. But there is a catch… Hmm, so you clicked to the next page huh? Think you can hang? The catch is, that you do the 44 to 50 miles in one day. And the heat? 100+. Water? Good luck finding any – and if you do, it’ll probably give you the runs.
Here is where it gets really interesting. The run is *across the freakin Sahara* – you do the whole thing – 4000 miles in over a hundred days.
This obviously falls in the INSANE category. In fact, I’m going to create a ‘Insane’ tag for the post. Show of hands – Should I drop this one into the ’2007 Race Info’ category?
AP Pic Below – ESPN Link here for the story.
PS – Sorry for the cheesy buildup. All this extra time I have since my knee is keeping me sidelined has has not helped my writing skills.

Credit goes to my brother Shiva in Santa Barbara for finding this one. He corralled me into doing a “Night Moves” race over last summer. If you’re ever in SB and want a great tour guide/running partner, Shiva is your guy.

I am not sure the Sahara sounds like fun. I do not see smiles on their faces.

my two favorite parts of the run were rinsing the hands in the ocean on one side, and rinsing them on the other. i could handle that.

Touchy, touchy. No, seriously. I don’t want to know when, and I ain’t going to search thru any results. I just wanted to know if you did the swim or the biathlon.

for some reason, the august 16th biathlon results are GONE. my brother is looking into it – he of course is a little higher on the list than me.
