Riverwood Triathlon 2008 – great day for a great race!
KarenG8r wins her age group (again). Check out how she was telling Squeeky exactly how much butt she was going to kick in the middle of the race
Squeeky deals with inner tendon demons and was stil able to pull an extremely respectable 14th in his age group, despite fighting a nagging injury.
Sandbagger capitalizes on a great aerobic base built from Umstead Trail Marathon, as well as sandbagging on the bike leg to pull a great (for him) 5k run – and place 7th in the age group. (Beat #8 by 4 seconds – T2 30 seconds faster than #8).
Met some other friends and a large number of Lochmere neighbors at the race. The godfather of the the triathlon groupies, Rick, who apparently is the source of all our Tri-shenanigans.
We missed several of you!

You guys are great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love the photos. Sorry, Squeak, that you had to fight that injury; I can relate! But it sure didn’t hold you back; wow, 14th in the age group. You’re as impressive as Karen! And that is SAYING something. And Rama; oh, Rama, we love you, too. You’re, uh, my hero. Bet you were the best looking triathlete out there. And fast. And nice.

It was great to see Sandbagger up in the single digit placements. He had a great race, despite the log jam in the pool. Apparently a few people thought they were supposed to submit a time for 50 yards.
I think one of the best parts about Tris is watching KarenG8r race. She has the best attitude and spirit. All that, and she kicks butt.
Hope the brickers had a good ride/run today. Sorry I missed out. I am up here in Wisconsin where they are predicting snow……

Great production Rama! It was almost like I was there. Thanks so much for doing that.
I am so excited with everyone’s effort and strength yesterday. What a great way to start the season.
Thanks to those who ran yesterday… I always enjoy running with the boys. Great ride/run today. Heidi and Tommy were looking very strong. Karen got in a good victory lap

Awesome, awesome job gang. I am so looking forward to next weekend. In a sado-masochistic kind of way I think…
I’m such a tri-junkie. See you at White Lake.

By the way…both Sandbagger and Mr. Squeek had very impressive finishes at Riverwood. Can’t wait to hear all about White Lake…you guys are going to have a blast…Go get ‘em!!!
