Recap – Feb 10 Run

Alex peddles radioactive beads

Alex went on a business trip down to the Big Easy and brought us some radioactive beads.

Man was it cold. The 60 degree forecast was correct. 60 Kelvin.

We picked up a stray named Val from another running group. The ladies nonchalantly posted a sub 9 minute pace, which I was happy about while warming up, but when we turned around at mile 5, I was flagging.

Anita and Alex cruised all the way back. Rap Master Sass was on their heels, and Karen and Kendall obliged me by cutting off the final lake loop via the front entrance short cut.

Sadly, several of us had to jet out and didn’t have time for java this week.

Here’s hoping for a smidge warmer weather for next week.

Lil Bit, KarenG8r, Missy Thang, Rap Master Sass and Sandbagger,

Thanks for greeting me this morning with a great birthday card. Much appreciated. The family has enjoyed guessing the real names that go with the blog handles. Thanks also to those who wore their Mardi Gras beads the entire run.

It was great to see everyone. I just wish it had been warmer or that I had had enough time to hit Starbucks afterwards.

I won’t see you all next week, as the family and I will be spending Saturday with Mickey Mouse. I will see you all, and hopefully the rest of the gang as well, in 2 weeks. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. ~Squeaky

At least four who ran today ended up at Inside Out Sports this evening — including one who showed up just long enough to win a major raffle.prize. Somebody’s buddy Aaron must have told Mike Beaman there was a birthday boy in the crowd.

I used up all my luck today. As a result, I now am certain I will never, ever, ever win the lottery. Before today, I still had hope. But hey. I have nice aero bars!

And thanks to Karen and a half of cup of wine, I have a very nice wet suit and drink system for my bike.
Alex, I did not have to lay on the floor to get my wet suit off, but did get a second laugh from the tought of you doing so.
Hey, rap master…. I met Dale. She is exactly what I thought. Nice, full of energy and no doubt tough.
Thanks to everyone for dragging me in this Saturday. Have a great week!
