I love that photo (taken by those two guys from the midwest, right?). And I wish I could relive the experience again with you. But as of today, I have been instructed not to run for the next few weeks while I get this nerve injury dealt with, finally.

Here’s hoping Sandbagger, Belky and the other 150 insane people have a great race. Hands down, Umstead still ranks as the hardest race I think I have ever done. At least it felt like that then. And now.

I’m at the lake this weekend but will be thinking about y’all! Belky, hope your back is doing ok. Rama, you are running some crazy miles so just have fun! I agree with Squeeky: hardest race I’ve run. My advice: Don’t trip on your own shoelace halfway through the race!

Happy Birthday to the real Dr. Seuss! Today is your day! Your mountain awaits . . . Get on your way!

Busy day for me! I’m planning an early a.m. 9-mile race-pace run from BTN, then riding my mountain bike from BTN the long way around (through Turkey) to my station up where Sycamore intersects Graylyn. That’ll be my volunteer post for the race, same as last year Belky and Seuss. If y’all have any special needs for that point, let me know and I’ll have it for you! I’ll be there from about 9:15 until about 11:00 or so.

Good luck to Sandbagger and Belky. You guys are hard core marathoners! Squeeky – sorry about your injury. I heard that the best treatment is rest and plenty of Starbucks!

Is anyone interested in running ATT from White Oak this Saturday at 6:30 a.m.? I’m trying to get in a 13-14 miler this weekend in preparation for the Tobacco Road Half in two weeks.

Sandbaggger and Belky: Enjoy the tour of Umstead and here’s to a great race day for both of you! Look for me on the Turkey Creek Trail to cheer you on.
Terp: I’m planning to join you at White Oak ATT entrance for a 13 – 14 miler. 6:30??
Then I think I’ll grab my Starbucks at the drive-thru and head out to Umstead to cheer on the crazy boys!

Hey, guys. I forgot that I have a Session retreat on Saturday, so I can’t run. Dr. John, Cramps; can anyone run 14 with me on Sunday morning? Pleeeeeeeassse!

Thanks for the good wishes milers! I have about a 50/50 shot at making the race. Both kids came down with norovirus tonight and the wife is out of town. Fun, fun fun! There’s a good possibility that my race day sitter, aka mom, and I will have the virus since we were all together today! Looking forward to running with you all soon! Anyone up for a projectile vomiting contest instead?

I won’t take you up on it, Belky. Hope you and the kids feel better! Good luck this weekend!

Good luck Umsteaders; I hope you’re able to run, Belky! I wish I could be out there to cheer everyone on again this year, but the spouse is out of town as well as grandparents, so the parenting thing is up to me!

Squeeky – take care of that leg and enjoy the rest from all the pavement pounding.

Good luck Sandbagger and Belky–whew if Squeeky and Dr. Seuss say it is the most difficult race they have ever done–that’s saying something!

Terp and KarenG8r- I will see you at ATT at 6:30 where we can slug out 13-14–then we must do Starbucks–of course!

MitDog, A Sunday run sounds good for me. Susan and I got in late tonight from several days away. Perhaps a run at ATT – let me know. Good luck to the other runners and hope to see you next week. Sinden
