I am in, but definitely only half since we have SOMA the next weekend…. WOW I can not believe it is next weekend!
I am looking forward to seeing everyone.
I am new to the group and looking to do a 20 miler on the bridge to nowhere run. Is anyone doing a long run? I am training for the City of Oaks marathon. I have logged (1) 20 miler thus far and this will be my second.
I am in for 20. Check out the usa track and field web site. You can draw and measure your runs or just pick runs that other people in our area have previously measured. See ya’ll EARLY Sat:)
What is the typical group pace for your 10-20 mile runs. Just trying to see if I can hang? I run somewhere in the 930-10 mile pace on long runs and tend to pick it up on runs under 10 miles. I look forward to meeting you all. Take care!
Hey guys I still have a sprained achilles tendon and can’t do the hills off the Bridge to Nowhere. Is anyone up for a flat run somewhere Saturday morning (6-6:30)? I’m going to try 10—
Hi Guys-
I’m in for a short run (8 – 10 miles) and looking forward to seeing everyone at the Bridge to Nowhere! Welcome Belky! I think there will be several people (Rob, Holly and maybe more) that are planning to do around 20 miles on Sat. morn. If you are running a 9:30 to 10:00 min. pace you will find lots of running partners in this group…so we look forward to seeing you on Sat. morning!
I’m going to attempt 20 miles at approx. 10 min./mi. pace with a modified Galloway (run 7 minutes and walk 1) – perhaps up to 22 if time (and my legs) allow. Karen G8tor has a pretty flat course (from Bridge to Nowhere to Godbold Park and back) for the second 10 miles of the 20+ miler for us to run. The second 10 miles is on a paved path, so it will offer a differet terrain too. Breaking-up the run into two 10 mile segments will also give us the opportunity to get back to our cars and restock hydration and gels.
I’m up for about 10-12 miles. Galloway/Schiller method sounds good to me with 7:1.
Also, thanks to all of the Mitterling Milers for your support following my mom’s death. The fruit basket was awesome and your notes and cards were very helpful at a difficult time. You guys are great.
Sounds good to me Terp. I like your plan to be able to restock mid run. I didn’t have that option on my first 20 miler. I look forward to meeting you guys.
My wife has an early conference on Saturday, so I’m going to start around 6:20 in Umstead for about an hour or so. (Then it’s Daddy Day Care Day.) I’ll keep my eyes peeled for the Mitterling Milers…Happy Trails!
Taper — It’s not a porcine mammal with a prehensile snout, indigenous to South and Central America. I plan to run about six miles, provided I do not get too tired.

Provided my plane gets in from Chicago on Friday night, I am in. However, I think I will only be running 1/2 of it since I ran long last weekend.

Count me in for 10-12. I’m doing the taper-down for Marine Corps on October 28th. Can’t wait. And Starbucks afterwards. See you guys.

Rama; love the Bowflex ad. But please, next time, before you post a photo of me, will you ask for my permission? My agent is after me already.
