You are so ready, Forrest! Go out and have an awesome time on the course. Can’t wait to hear your recap of the race. Looks like the weather is improving!
I would prefer a little flatter course for the run this weekend. Planning a run/easy ride on Saturday am & ride/easy run on Sunday am with afternoons in Chapel Hill watching Kenzie at the College Club Swimming Championship. Should be a fun full weekend
I’ll run anywhere, though I like the idea of Shelley, because I need to get some pavement running in before Boston. And I need to do 16 this weekend. I appreciate all the company anyone can give me! See you wherever we meet. Did I ever tell you akll you’re my heroes? You’re everything I would like to be. I can fly higher than an eagle. You are the wind beneath my wings…..
Cold, schmold! Take a lot of Vit C, get an expectorant and hang head down off your bed and let your wife or kids pound on your back until the gunk loosens up. Do not cough up a lung — you’ll need both of those!
Follow Belky’s lead and get better just in time for the race. You are ready! Good luck!
I’m running 16 tomorrow. Anybody up for running most of that with me? I’ll do 2 laps around the lake after we finish if that works out. Just want some company!
Folks, Due to an early soccer game, I am going to have to run in Cary (around Regency Lake) from my house at 6:30. In the off chance anyone wants to join me, I promise pavement, greenways with goose poop, and Peet’s coffee at the finish.
I hope you guys have a great run at Shelley and a great weekend.
Good Luck Forest–you looked a little peaked when I saw you at Lifetime–hope you are well enough to do it!
I will be at Shelley on Saturday. Not sure how far I will run as I am very focused on swimming right now and will need some energy for the swim later in the day–unless I get out of bed early enough to swim before the run. In any event, see you on Saturday!
Weather is cooperating for my Saturday road clean-up, so no group run for me.
However…Can I convince anyone that a chilly Sunday morning ride leaving around 7:30 a.m. sounds like a rockin’ good time??? There’s no way I’m parking my arse on that trainer for another 3 hours this weekend. I’ll let my toes freeze off first.
Thanks for all the well-wishes. 18+ weeks of training and it comes down to a cold that sets me back.
No worry; I’m throwing Vitamin C and rest at it, and I’m feeling better than I looked Bald Eagle
“All my bags are packed, I’m ready to go…”
Had a nice run this morning, everything seems to be functioning as it should. Short 4 miles in Va Beach tomorrow to quiet the demons, then ready to rock on Sunday.
I’m in tomorrow. No more than four miles for me…so I’ll probably run 1.5 to 2 miles out on the Greenway with the group and turn around. Just enough time to teach everyone the Maryland fight song in preparation for the big game against Memphis later in the day.
Alright…the Terp is back! I’ll help with the Maryland fight song… I’ve memorized it after 14 years of marriage. I’m in for a run at Shelley…see you guys tomorrow morning!

I may need to do a long ride Saturday – I only get one long break per weekend. Anyone consider a brick dependent on weather?
Forrest – what is your public goal and what is your secret deep-d0wn goal (we won’t tell anyone)

Heh-my public goal is not to suffer the way I did the last 2 miles of City of Oaks.
Secret deep-down goal is not totally nailed down yet. I need to actually “see” the course before I can fully comment.

Good luck gump! You are ready to crush that course. I’m looking forward to hearing post race stories.

Thanks Belky. If the chest cold lets go of me, I’ll give it my best shot. Otherwise, right now, it looks like a long day…:(

Looks like a close race between “doesn’t matter” and “other” as far as location goes. Does that mean Shelley Lake? I can’t do 16 but can run a few.

That was excellent, Terp! I wish all movies had a Cliff Notes version like that. Maybe I could stay awake until the end.
Gump,
Wherever you go and whatever you do,
May the luck of the Irish be there with you.
