  I look forward to seeing you all this weekend. I am voting for Shelley Lake and will be for a while. Tommy and I ran in Umstead two weeks ago, and the dreaded horseflies are out in full force; ugh! I won’t be running in there until it gets cool in the fall. Other takers?

  Bad news, MitDog. I ran the greenway south of Shelley recently and the flies were so bad I had to pull my shirt up over my head. My kids helpfully pointed out that I looked like an idiot when I demonstrated this look for them. I think the flies are everywhere! I’m going to be out of town the next two weeks but doing two of my favorite runs: Lake Norman and then the countryside of central Ohio. Have fun, M&M’s!

  well we cant run at the tobacco trail because when i ran there last time it was really HUMID

  Well I am running at the beach this weekend in the waves & sun. You all have fun with the humidity and flies
  I will miss you guys but can not wait to see Kelley and the beach.

  I ran Umstead last Sunday, 6:30am start, from Harrison Avenue entrance to Sal’s Branch and back. I don’t recall a single horsefly. Of course, it was a cool morning. On the ATT, there is one horsefly that waits for me right at the swamp between the 0.5 and 1 mile marker, that comes after me every time I run there.
  I’m out for the weekend, heading to Topsail. I hope to long-run down there over the weekend. See you all soon I hope!

  I’m in – I’ll do Shelley Lake or wherever…probably only around 6-8 miles again.

  I was running on my treadmill the other night and kept getting these gusts of cold air from a nearby vent. Terrible! I am out for Saturday, as I will be in Michigan. Have fun guys!

  I’m afraid I am out this weekend. Have been in a great state of denial and need to just take Herb’s advice and rest this leg. So, while you guys put on the miles, I’ll put on the weight.

  and all the positive support i have given squeeky about not being able to pedal as fast as me, etc. – i’m sure has been a big help making the decision to take time off to heal.

  I’m out of town the next two Saturdays at the beach. I’ll miss running with you guys…but looking forward to spending some quality time with the family and running on a flat course.

  So, who’s running? I still think Shelley is best of all the options. And close to Starbucks, which is what it’s really all about anyway. Squeek, take care of that leg; it does take time. I have been there, unfortunately. I hope to see someone in the morning!
