Group Run – Saturday January 5

Whew! Mark that one down for the books! Got rolling at Oh-Dark-Thirty! High 20′s at best. Down the Greenway and back, and all the way back through Umstead Park to Reedy Creek Road. Squeekys distance estimating abilities were once again stretched to the limit. Even with help from geo-synchronous satellites, he somehow underestimated the distance. Secretly I think he is just trying to get us into better shape. Luckily he was only off by a few hundred yards. We banged out almost 19 and I have a big smile and not much more than a shuffle today.

Thanks to all for a great run.

Where: Umstead – Bridge To Nowhere

When: 6:30 a.m.

Distance: 18 – Will probably do 2 groups

Weather: Low 30s – Brr!

Location up for discussion. Placeholder for BTN.

I’m likely going to sit this one out – tight calves, achilles, shins, basically everything below the knee. Not sure what I’ve done, but I’m going to spend some quality time with my elliptical until it feels better.

Hope you all have a great run!

I am in for 18! Yaks… can I get a note from the group that I might be a little tired during my family’s scavenger hunt. Stabu got a wetsuit under her Christmas tree. ;)

Can’t make it tomorrow, but I was wondering if anyone is interested in a Sunday a.m. run 10-12 miles? If interested….

We are simply nuts, aren’t we? Running a really long way in the real cold, only to get a cup of java? Ah, if the non-runnners of the world (bless their hearts) only knew what they were missing. The jokes, the therapy, the good lookin’ leader. It’s all that and a bag of chips. I’ll see you in the AM. Can’t wait. 18–bring it on.

Great run, everyone. Good to see everyone out at the start of the new year in the bitter cold. KarenG8r and Missy Thang, we miss you and wish you both a quick recovery!

It was good to run into everyone saturday morning. I had a busy day and needed to start earlier. After thinking I was crazy, Fgump decided to join me. Wow, it was cold! My waiste camelback completely froze and had no water to drink. Again, Fgump bailed me out with his extensive liquids selection. Even with gloves, I couldn’t feel my fingers upon finishing. We cranked out a tough 16 all the while wishing I wish still in bed. I hope to see everyone soon. Take care!
