Saturday Group Run - American Tobacco Trail

Where: Umstead Park – Bridge to Nowhere

When: 6:30 AM

Weather: Cold – mid 30s

Apparently Mr Mitdog is turning 40. He told me he was going to run 1k for each year this Saturday. Lets all cheer him on from the warm benches of Starbucks after we finish 8 to 12 plus some single track.

Hello milers! I apologize for not keeping better touch. Young family life caught up to me! I’ve Been doing long runs on Friday in lieu of Saturday and therefore haven’t been able to join the saturday run in quite some time. I followed all of your accomplishments in 09 from afar, and there were some impressive ones! I hope to join you again sometime soon in preparation for Umstead. I see that the milers will be representing well. Take care!

I hope to be able to make it Saturday. Thank goodness it’s a recovery week…Turkey sapped me yesterday! Hate I missed y’all Saturday, but the park was glorious Sunday morning!!!

I’m out of town this weekend. Enjoy the warmer temperatures!

This might be the earliest I have ever posted.

I’m in, as long as I don’t have to chase Lil’ Bit. Still recovering from that one.

I did get out yesterday and ran Company Mill Trail. It was unbelievably beautiful. If anyone wants to add single track to this weekend’s run, I am always up for that.

I second the single track idea – as long as it’s not too squishy.

  • 6 terp // Jan 20, 2010 at 11:54 am

I’m always in for single track!

P.S. Mitterling’s birthday is this Sunday.

Cramps are up for a Saturday run. How about I propose the place. It sounds like a single track option is needed, so BTN at 630?

  • 8 terp // Jan 21, 2010 at 1:28 pm

I second the motion. BTN at 6:30 with the Cramping Mitterlings.

I am likely out this week, but wanted to wish MitDog and early happy birthday, and welcome back Belky!

Also, (Rama) I’m currently obsessed with watching the White Lake II registration numbers. Someone please talk me off the ledge…

Hey Belky! I heard you are doing some crazy distances. Congrats! Look forward to you joining us when you can.

Since my resent conversation with Alex’s PT it was suggested that single track and lots of hills when adding extra distance was not advised…. so who is up for 16 miles on a flatter course like Shelley or ATT? I am in but I am not training for a spring marathon :)

12 on my plan for Saturday. Location and terrain don’t really matter to me. Will go with the flow!

  • 12 KarenG8r // Jan 22, 2010 at 12:20 pm

I’m in for a run but will be going slower and shorter….as usual!! No location preference for me….I’ll catch you guys for the start. MittDog…are you in?? A birthday treat will be in order! Stabu….White Lake II will be fun…jump!!

  • 13 terp // Jan 22, 2010 at 3:19 pm

I’m totally flexible re: location. My PT told me to lose 15 pounds…so I can do that anywhere.

  • 14 Bald Eagle // Jan 22, 2010 at 6:01 pm

I’m in for Saturday. Will probably hang with Karen as slower and shorter sounds good to me. And y’all know I have an aversion to single track, so when you leave the main trail we will bid farewell until of course–Starbucks! See you tomorrow!

See you guys in the morn! Looking forward to catching up!

I’m in Mitterlingers! I can’t wait. And how did that sneaky Terp know it was my birthday. Aw, shucks. I turn 46 on Sunday. Please make checks payable to the Mitterling’s Children’s Education Fund, Attention: Department of How The Heck Am I Going to Pay for College, Post Office Box 12345, Raleighwood……

See you in the morning at BTN! Slow and steady–really slow. 8 miles.

Great run this morning guys and girls! Mitdog-I’m sorry I couldn’t join you afterwards for celebratin’…one sick kiddo at home and a spouse with a run-date had me on a tight timeline. I hope you have a great birthday!

  • 20 squeeky // Jan 23, 2010 at 10:53 pm

Great run today and great party after. Always happy to celebrate a 30-something birthday. Hope tomorrow is a great day, Mitdog.

Ruth, Great to see you again. But you need a nickname. Might I suggest something with the word “fast” in it. Be warned. Either pick one or one will be foisted upon you. Believe me.
