Where: Umstead – Bridge To Nowhere
When: 6:30 AM
Distance: Up to 20
Weather: Low 40s
Last long run for the 2008 Umstead Trail Marathon people
Great run this morning! Weather was fantastic for running. First time I had seen Rap Master since the EggNog-gate incident. KarenG8r is doing well with the foot. A few of the group were off competing or recuperating from competing – but still a solid crowd.

While we were rocking with SteveE (who promised to show at Umstead) Dr. Seuss was rocking in Tampa… with 3 minutes faster than last year. Nice!
I am in for 20 very slow miles in Umstead.

I appreciated all the encouragement from the milers and could feel your support during those last miles. I was happy to be 3 min faster than last year — but I was still 3 min away from breaking 4 hrs! I left it all out on there on the course though (almost literally true after my first GU!). I didn’t feel like eating much after that! I definitely won’t make 20 this weekend but I’ll see y’all soon. Y’all are the greatest!

I am in Kendal! I couldn’t let you tackle a 20 miler by yourself. I have been nursing a bad chest cold and haven’t been able to run for a week. So I am in for a nice slow easy 20 miler, if there is such a thing. I begin a nice week long vacation this Friday and need to relax with a grande fru-fru coffee afterwards.
Congrats Seuss! Rest up and we will see you soon.

I’m going to sneak out for a short easy run with you all as I’m finally feeling human again – but none of this 20-mile business
Kendal, I think I’ll be at the pool tonight, so move over and make some room for me!
Great job Dr. Suess!

Can’t make the Saturday run this week due to out-of-town commitments Saturday. I am planning on a soggy solo Sunday stumble (is that alliteration or assonance, I never can remember?) of the last “long” run before UTM, but it will be late morning before I begin. Good luck to all, and happy running!

Awesome job Dr. Seuss.
Good luck to Mitdog and Jeffrey this weekend at the Myrtle Beach Half.

Hey Belkymd, you know only real men can drink frufru coffee. We will savor a scrumptiously satisfying sipping session in the name of fgump.
Mitdog & Youngstud show them what the Mitterling Milers are all about. HAVE FUN!
Stabu, thanks for swimming tonight. You are rocking. Next time we will bring bannans

I am in for a run at Umstead tomorrow morning. I’m plannming something more in the 10 mile range…but will be cheering the 20 milers on with some good mental vibes. See ya!
