Where: American Tobacco Trail – White Oak
When: 6:30 AM
Weather: 40s and light rain likely
In the past, we have carpooled from the Krogers parking lot. Krogers is gone – may I suggest a new forum? Parking at Starbucks just up 55.

In for a short run (5ish). Running long on Sunday due to time constraints Saturday. See you wherever the gang decides to run.

Met Dusty in the same spot as usual between Trenton and the Turkeys. In promising to run 20 on 2/14, I forgot I’m in Williamsburg for a soccer tournament. Last big run before Umstead! Have fun whenever you run!

I’m going to venture a guess that there will *not* be a special Valentine’s breakfast in bed for me Saturday, so it’s safe for me to go running
I’m in for 6-8!
Happy Belated Birthday, Squeeky! I’m sad to miss all of the birthday fun lately!

Cramps are celebrating V Day on Saturday, so we’ll run Sunday morning. Most likely Shelley at 7 am. All are invited to join us.

I will meet you all on the trail at 6:30 (I will be parking at the Wimberly access a little earlier and running 6 total (MP3.5-6.5-3.5), so will catch you as I come back by southbound on the second half. Trying to squeeze in a 7:30 spin class right afterwards, thus the early start.

I will probably meet you all at the trail. If I get lost in the morning, I’ll call one of you. I’m trying for 14 tomorrow. Anyone with me? 14 on the 14th? Be mine?
14 sandbagger // Feb 13, 2009 at 7:12 pm
14 sounds good to me, as long as its slooooow.

see you all in A.M. — not sure how far I will go–need exercise but it’s been a looong week. See you in the A.M. at Starbucks!

I will be meeting everyone at the trail – no 14 for me as I went long on Tuesday.

Sorry to miss this week’s run…especially the super flat ATT course. The kids requested that I make heart shaped pancakes in the a.m. – don’t tell anyone – I don’t want to ruin my John Wayne tough-guy image.
I’m going to run with the Cramps on Sunday if anyone is interested (see the new post for details).
Have a great run!

Have fun in the morning Milers! I think I will be joining Terp in making some heart shaped pancakes for the special lady of the house. Seus, thanks for the heads up as I am switching to Sunday like some of the others. Happy belated birthday to Alex, the spry 29 year old! Take care!

Here’s a good editorial re: Umstead access from today’s N&O:
Parks and parking
The “No Parking” ordinance near Umstead Park that you reported Feb. 3 would be voted on by the City Council was sent to committee. Over the last two years, more and more encumbrances have impeded citizen access to two neighborhood entrances — Reedy Creek/Trenton Road and Graylyn Road, thereby establishing what is becoming private access — accessible only if you live in the immediate area. What of the rest of us?
This began when Reedy Creek Road was paved and beautified and big houses built; parking along the road was then banned. Now parking in the nearby neighborhood is in jeopardy of being banned — so the new residents don’t have to look at our cars.
At Graylyn Road there happen to be two nice large homes and a perfectly usable parking area right there, but parking has been banned there, too.
Access to this state park has eroded, and this must stop. There is no reason that the citizens of Raleigh — and of the state — should not be able to easily access these entrances. Build some parking lots if you must. The users of the park did not create this problem; poor planning and preferential treatment did.
