One other thing: I am collecting old running shoes to send to Haiti. Let me clarify: when I say “old running shoes, I don’t mean smelly, radioactive kind of old. “Gently worn out” closed toe shoes will help Haitians get around the mess their cities have become with some protection from further injury or infection. Bring your shoes tied together to the Sat runs over the next few weeks and I’ll take care of them. Thanks!

Squeeky – at least it’s nice to have your b-day before the tri season starts. Nothing like crossing a finish line hearing ‘…at 40 years young..’ when you’re only 39 and 8 months

ATT works for me.
Spent last night at Topher’s house in Phoenix, watching the Heels lose again. Drove right past Tempe Town Lake and thought of Soma 1/2 IM, of heat, of dead fishing floating on the lake’s surface, of heat, of South Mountian, of heat, and and of Rap Master Sass’s recent IM AZ finish.
I think Topher is in for Vineman 2011

Is anyone interested in getting an early start? …a slow start….. Erik is heading to Costa Rica in the morning ( >:-( …but I digress…) so I have some child care issues. I’m thinking of trying to get going around 6 or 6:30 and can meet back at the parking lot around 7 to finish up with the rest of you late sleepers

i am going to start at 7 to get a few extra winks and let the sun come up. shooting for 17 so i have to figure out where on the trail that takes me.
i wouldnt mind going out and back in one direction with the group and doing an out & back in the opposite direction at the end to get the balance of miles in. will get a chance to restock on hot chocolate on the way through.

Given the updated weather forecast, I’m running a little closer to home…at Shelley with Dr. Feelgood, Saber and Sandman. We’re aiming for 6:30…but might bag it for a Sunday run if it’s too sloppy.

and now the latest snow update is 2″ to 4″. if its sketchy for driving in the morning we may need to call it…
sounds like it may be a game time decision – lets circle back at 6 AM and we can find out who is going and who is staying off the road.

Hmmm….it does sound like a game time decision. I’ll probably do ATT at 7AM if the roads aren’t too bad. Hopefully we can all catch up the following weekend to run together!

I’m running long tomorrow — about 20 mi. I’ll leave my house about 6 AM, which will put me at the bottom of the trail that goes up to the Shelley Lake parking lot at 6:30. From there, I’ll go on to Capital Blvd and back. Meet me at 6:30 or along the trail if you wanna go.
PS Bring your old shoes next weekend. I’ll be collecting them for Haiti the next two weeks.

Just returned from the airport and the roads are actually fine, just a few slushy spots. However, with this type of heavy, wet snow I’m guessing the trails will be really slick. I am going to stick to the roads around home in hopes that I can run instead of skate.
