Good luck at Lake Logan! If I had recently done a race in the cold, rainy mountains, I might have some advice. No, wait a minute, . . .

Okay, there’s no rule against wearing two wetsuits — particularly if your body fat is below 10%.

You might also want to keep one wetsuit on during the bike ride.

I have found that adding weight to your bike is helpful on mountain triathlons, as it aids you in going downhill.

Make sure you use Porta-Jons provided by Set-Up Events; it is not appropriate to use private citizens’ toilets on the course that are serving as planters or other yard art.

Put all of your food in one Bento box, as the rain will meld it together. If you have never had a Nab/Newton/pretzel glob, you have missed a lot.

Do NOT drink the clear Gatorade in the mason jar.

If you hear banjo music, pedal like hell.
