Tut Tut, it looks like rain. Saturday could be sloppy.
I think I would like to try 8. Probably still slow though.
Hey…. I thought I would reach out for some contacts for my daughter McKenzie. (Junior at UNCG in biology w/ minor in environmental studies; smart & dedicated, like her mom :) She is looking for an internship doing biology research, preferable in environmental research or policy. “Young Stud” gave her a name & she has try the EPA, but so far no openings. If you think of anything you can e-mail me: ksmith2094@nc.rr.com Thanks!

I’m running the Raleigh Rocks Half this Saturday, so I hope to see everyone next weekend. Let me know if anyone else is running this race. Hopefully, the rain will hold-up until 10 a.m. or so.

Actually, I may be able to join you all *if* it rains – this would mean soccer practice would be cancelled. Don’t wait for me..if I don’t show up, soccer’s on.

Looks like Sunday may be nice for biking – let me know if there is a group that ends up going.

Good luck at the race Terp!

Good Luck at Raleigh Rocks on Saturday, Rob!
Have a great run ~ Where y’all running on Saturday a.m.?

  • 5 Squeeky // Apr 3, 2008 at 10:20 pm

My review of the votes looks like BTN is in the lead. But, alas, I won’t be there. Going camping with Litl’ Squeek 2. I did get out for a solo run in Umstead on Wednesday and it is beautiful right now. Spring is popping out all over the place.

Terp, Good luck in Raleigh Rocks. I look forward to hearing the race report. Herbs, hope the legs are feeling better.
MitDog, how many weeks till Hopkinton? Are you ready?

And to Topher, across the continent, good luck in the IM distance swim race this weekend. Give us a report after.

    Hi Guys-
We’ve got lots of busy people: Squeeky-Have fun at camp! Herbs-Sorry about the leg during the ISO Half..hope you recover soon!! Terp-Have a great run at the Raleigh Rocks…maybe the rain will hold off. Stabu-Sounds like we may run together as rain is in the forecast! Lit’l Bit-Can’t wait to catch up with you. MitDog-The girls (and others) will get you thru your Boston Training Run this weekend. See you at BTN at 6:30!

    Hi Again-
In light of the weather and since MitDog needs to do an 18 mile Boston training run (preferably not in the mud) several of us (MitDog, Lit’l Bit, KarenG8R) will be running from Shelley Lake on Sat. April 5. Hope to see you there!

I can not get my new shoes dirty…. yet! I will be at Shelley Lake helping our leader through part of his 18. I am looking at 8-10.
    Good luck, Terp! Have fun!

I’m out. Going to rest up my partially pulled/strained lower back. Its been nagging me since before Umstead Marathon.

Heading out to the Left Coast for a week returning late Friday night.

As a result of the never-ending negotiations for running/biking/swimming/whatever time, I’ll have to run early at home tomorrow…but! I’ll be joining the bike crew on Sunday. Seems Erik would like a bit of time for his wind-related play and tomorrow looks to be breezy at the coast.

Shelley Lake, yay. I’m going to try to make it out there…. Did everyone read about our heroine Karen in the N&O today????

We missed lot of people this morning; and where was SteveE…. Terp let us know how you did. Hope you did not get too rained on.

For those of you looking for a Sunday afternoon bike ride. Several of us will be riding from Morrisville Aquatic & Fitness Center at 1301 Morrisville Pkwy in Morrisville at 1:30pm. We will be doing 2 loops: 1st = roughly 35 miles & the 2nd = roughly 18 miles. You are welcome to join 1 or both. See you there.

    Raleigh Rocks Race Report:

    Positives:
I finished (yeah me) – although my slowest 1/2 marathon time ever…still felt good at the end.
The Raleigh police did a great job managing traffic.
The course was well laid-out…and challenging.
The weather…althought 90% humidity, it never really rained.
    Really cool shirt.

    Negatives:
Water/Gatorade stops. They ran out of water at the first two stops (miles 2 and 4) and they only had gatordade at mile 8. At mile 10, they ran out of cups…and volunteers were telling people that they could use the cups from the ground (used). Luckily, I carried my fuel belt!
    No portajohns along the course.
Mile markers – most of the miles weren’t marked.

Congrats to Mitdog for finishing 18 today!!!!!

Congrats Terp! It was really humid this morning. Nice training run Mitdog! As for the Shelley crew this morning, I think I missed you by a few minutes. I now have my sons soccer practice on Saturdays causing me to have to run earlier. Aparently, I estimated my time to close and missed you guys. I hope you all had an enjoyable run! Have a great week all!

Ugh, I mistakenly set my alarm for PM insetad of AM. When I opened my eyes, it was 7 something. What a loser.

  • 16 Herbs // Apr 6, 2008 at 8:37 pm

Congratulations Terp!!! Glad to hear you finished feeling good!! I was thinking of you yesterday…The cool T-shirt is always a bonus…(Why else sign up for these painful events?)
    Way to go, Rob!

I am sorry we missed you Steve & Belky.
Way to go Rock’n Rob, at a not so rock’n race.
Thanks to Karen, Heidi, Maureen, & Young Stud for getting me through 36 bike miles on Sunday.
Tommy how was the zoo? Did you get a ride? Alex did you and Eva get dry? Rama is your back ready for 12 this Saturday?
