Hi all -
This is a quick post to set as a placeholder so people can post their experience about the race today.
Meanwhile, I am going to continue my ice bath. Did I mention it was hot? And steep. And loooooong…
Congrats to Litl’bit for placing not third, or second, but Numero Uno – #1 – in her age group. Litl’bit, when you run out of room for all your trophies, I will be happy to hang them up in my house.

Everybody got the same “proud” metal (just look at Alfonzo’s smile) and I am soaking in a “similar” ice bath
I did get a nice black Fleece pullover. Did we mention it was HOT!
Seriously…. you guys are the greatest to train with. I do not know what I would do without you.
One special thanks to Van Morrison who sang “Wave Length” in my head while I was on the bike & run. 5 hours of “Wave Length”… I think there is something seriously wrong with me

What a fun day…?? I finally managed to work myself off the couch as I need to, you know, be a parent and all. I’m feeling a tad better save for the head full of stuff that is currently masking the pain of finishing that monster yesterday.
A big congrats to Kendal for a stellar race – her suck-it-up attitude at the start sure kicked my arse in gear!
A huge thanks to Karen for cheering us on out there in the heat!!! Your words of wisdom to ‘stay steady and relax’ kept me moving forward through that whole crazy run. Well, that and the fact that I knew had Kendal chasing me
Happy recovery everyone

Congrats to the Duke halfers! I am impressed Kendall, 1st place! Rest up and I look forward to running with you soon. Take care.

Congrats to everyone! Especially given the heat and humidity. My 30-minute elliptical machine workout in the air conditioned movie room at Gold’s on Sunday was a stark contrast to your workout.

Good luck to Dr. Feelgood on his first triathlon – the Kiawah Triathlon this Sunday. Good luck as well to Mike Saber and Michael and Andy Sandman. You’ll do a great job!
I’m not running tomorrow. Abby has an 8 a.m. soccer game with 7:30 team pictures. Let me know if anyone wants to run 8-10 mi. on Sunday.
