So, how was the the Coach Bubba 20K?
As for the Rap Master Romp ->Missy Thang, Sandbagger, Lit’l Bit and I can all attest to the fact that Rap Master looked strong today.
It was a good day to run. Not such a good day to swim, however. Lit’l Bit had to drag me thru the pool lake a dead whale.

Well, I possibly dragged Alex through the water, but I have been dragging ever since.

Thanks for pulling me through today. Rama, I hope you did not run too much farther than the doctor ordered.
I would like to hear how things went with the Bubba-Heads. Y’all missed my naked guy story.

Well, it looks like NC will be well represented. Who else? It will be fun! Rap Master? Terp why don’t you get John M. to swim and who wants to bike & you have a team?
Please post, Bubba Heads!

Coach Bubba 20K Update
It was a great day for running! We could not have asked for better weather for this time of year. The course was all that KarenG8tor and Steve described – very hilly for the first half (Forest Hills neighborhood of Durham) and flat for most of the second half (on the American Tobacco Trail). The topography of Forest Hills reminded me of running around North Hills in Raleigh…note the word Hills in both.
We used the Galloway method for most of the race (6 and 1) which is probably the only reason I survived the hills. The runs out at Umstead prepared us well for the hills in the race…although the packed dirt and gravel of Umstead are much kinder and gentler on the legs than the asphalt race course.
I thought that we all ran well…and finished strong…probably as a result of listening to Sting’s Desert Rose just prior to the race (thanks for the reminder email Alex). Dr. Feel Good and Jimmy put it into a second gear around mile 9 or 10 and ran the balance of the race at a blistering pace. Must have been a good dose of Ambien the night before.
The race was pretty well organized…ample water/gatorade stations, terrific traffic management by the police, a well-marked course, and plenty of food at the finish line (always important to me). The soup (provided by Doc Greens) – three varieties – was a nice touch.
Special thanks to KarenG8tor for picking up our packets on Thursday night…those 15 -30 minutes of extra sleep were helpful.

Sounds like a great race. Congrats to all you Bubbas. And as for you,Terp, tonight I, a repeat Tarheel, sadly bow down to your team.
Team Soma continues to grow. This is great. Anyone else?
