There is nothing like a hot cup of gas station french vanilla cappuccino to help you cheer on your running friends. Good temp for the runners. A little cold for the spectators and a closed Starbucks taunting us.
I was so proud to see the Mitterling Milers finish strong with smiling faces. Herbs was looking so strong at the end I think he must have just ran home because I never saw him after that. Way to finish, Tommy! It was good to see Michael Sandman and Jimmy still kicking up their heels. I heard rumor a known Dr. was feeling good and really pushed the pace the last mile of the race. Terp, KarenG8r, and Baldeagle had very strong finishes with Gr8tKaren getting 3rd in her age group. But it is the smiles and attitudes that made me glad I am a Mitterling Miler.

    Best soup? Ask Dr Feelgood
    # of pts in a ham biscuit? Ask Terp
    Who likes Moe’s?
Cheering on those who have no group can be harmful…

Congrats to all the MM’s who competed in Coach Bubba. Looking forward to hearing the stories next weekend!

PS> Kendall, how did your appointment go today? We were thinking about you this morning and wishing you good news.

Coach Bubba was a great running experience.. It was a real lift seeing teammate ‘Lil bit before the race and at the finish line! Thanks for the cheers and support. It was great for this NYer to run a NC race and actually see familiar faces like Terp, Dr. F and Karen on the course…Congrats to all. See you on Sat!

It was a terrific race! Perfect running weather – 45 – 50 degrees throughout and cloudy. All of the recent training in Umstead was very helpful for the hills in the first half of the race. Congrats to KarenG8r…only a few weeks back from a broken toe and she’s back on the medal stand! Herbs is now nicknamed Sandbagger 2 – this guy can fly – he averaged a 7:20 pace on a very challenging course. When he passed us on the out and back course at approx. mile 10, he was hanging with the Raleigh Running Outfitters racing team. Special thanks to litl’bit for greeting us at the start and finish lines – sorry for the circumstances that brought you to Durham and I wish for a speedy recovery for you!

I’m about to sign-up for the Raleigh Rocks Half Marathon on April 5. If anyone else is interested, let me know. Here’s the link:
