TriRunWith.Us turns 3 today!

We have had quite a bit of fun together over the last three years. In case you missed the other two birthdays:

I think we can all appreciate the hundreds and thousands of miles we have run, biked and swam together.

So now we know what Rap Master Sass does in his free time. He likes to think of imaginative ways to get all his friends together to do crazy things that involve crossing the state line (don’t worry, none of the activities are illegal, I think).

The 2010 Blue Ridge Relay starts in Grayson Highlands Virginia and wraps up in Asheville NC.

We need 12 runners. We could probably also take a few people in the “maybe” slot as alternates.

Maybe this is an obvious point, but it really means a lot when you’re onstage and you see friends out there. Kind of like the energy one draws from the supportive crowds at a marathon — times two or three. So thank you so much for coming last night. I hope you enjoyed it. Kendal, this is like the third time you’ve seen me play in a band, so you’re really a glutton for punishment!

And the Canes won too!

Calling all runners, walkers, bikers and golfers! Enjoy a day of recreation and support our brothers and sisters in need. The 6th Annual Race of Grace Weekend is coming – Friday, April 24 – Golf Tournament, Saturday, April 25 – Bike ride, Sunday, April 26 – 5K Walk/Run. Proceeds from this Raleigh District-wide and community effort will go to four agencies which distribute food to hungry brothers and sisters.

Our running group can run, bike, and swim but we won’t sign up for the choir anytime soon.

A reminder that my band, Better Off Dead, is playing at the Pour House Sunday evening Dec. 28. We go on early… like 7 or 8. The Pour House is smoke free on the main floor. Holiday time is tough, but if you’re experiencing cabin fever or in-law burnout, this show could be just the thing. We’re going to have some special guests, and it should be a hot show.

The band covers music by the Grateful Dead, but one doesn’t have to like or know anything about the Dead to enjoy this. By bass-playing standards, what I do in Better Off Dead is a marathon compared to other stuff some of you have seen me do.

My daughter, Caitlin, is putting together a benefit concert as a project for school, called the “Concert for Cancer”, with all proceeds going to the American Cancer Society.

Caitlin loves music and wanted to raise money for a good cause. The concert is at the Pour House in Raleigh, http://www.the-pour-house.com, on 11/24/08 (a monday night, but the only time we could get the club for free, and the week of thanksgiving so you can rest up on Thursday).
SequoyahPrepSchool,www.myspace.com/sequoyahprepschool , the headliner band, is an excellent band from South Carolina, preceded by some local opening bands that are good. SPS is going to start at a pretty decent hour, around 9 pm, so you won’t have to stay out too late.

Hope you guys can make it!! The bar will be open for over 21’s, sodas for the teens. If you can’t make it, donations appreciated, to American Cancer Society, and send to:
