I am actively researching bike trainers, as our new LCD TV sits boxed in the bonus room. My thoughts are that if I don’t manage to get a trainer before the TV finally gets installed, I may never get one.
So, here are a few links to some trainers that I have seen. Any other thoughts or recommendations?
- Kurt Kinetic
- Blackburn
- Tacx – (woohoo virtual reality!?)
- Any others?

Just one recommendation- I would move the chandelier.
Also, you should check out http://www.performancebike.com – support the locals.

anyone that trains with a chandelier and virtual reality in their living room should have time added to their race just out of principal….

Well I sprung for a trainer. I hopped on a Kinetic Rock & Roll.

Seems very smooth, and the extra weight on the flywheel keeps the wheel coasting for a pretty realistic feel.
Bought it at The Spin Cycle.

Supposedly because it allows for a pivoting motion, as well as a springing (vertical) motion, it will helps develop a clean and smooth cadence.
