15 Sounds good. Can we run from Shelley? I need to pick-up my daughter from camp that morning…so it would be great to be close to home. I might even get a few miles in before everyone gets there so I can get the 15 in and stay on track with our fall marathon training schedule.
Let me know if Shelley is ok?

I’ll try to find you guys. Somehow missed you (on my bike) the last two times you were at the lake. Do you know what route you’ll be following?
Switching gears for a minute (no pun intended), below is an e-mail that I sent to some friends and which, to reach you guys, I thought I’d just post here. It involves our band’s upcoming performance at a bar in Cary on Sat. nite Aug. 18 — my first time (at age 47) playing an actual gig! I am pumped beyond belief. If any of you are looking for something a little different to do on Sat. night Aug. 18, it would be wonderful to see you there… Steve E.

Friends: Our band is still on for Chubby’s Lounge in Cary on Sat. night Aug. 18, and I’m looking forward to seeing whoever can come. We band members had a field trip to Chubby’s the other night, and it impressed us as a fine dive (fairly spacious, pool tables, good sound system). Our setlist is in place, and we’re psyched to rock!
The band will come on around 9:30. We’ll play till 12:30 or 1 AM. (I can only imagine the regulars who will still be in the joint by that hour.)
I know a lot of you will be away on vacation or otherwise tied up, but, like I said a few weeks ago, if you’ve got nothing better to do, it would be great to see you there.
FYI, this map shows Chubby’s location: http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?formtype=address&country=US&popflag=0&latitude=&longitude=&name=&phone=&level=&addtohistory=&cat=&address=320+East+Durham+Rd.&city=Cary&state=NC&zipcode=

Subj: If You’re Around Sat. Nite 8/18….
…. and you’re really desperate for entertainment (your sock drawer is arranged… you have no wet paint to watch dry), a band in which I’m the bassist is playing at Chubby’s Lounge, 320 E Durham Rd., Cary.
Our group — Noisy Neighbors — plays an eclectic but familiar setlist of rock, soul and country. While I’m not sure what kind of clientele Chubby’s normally attracts (and I become slightly queasy when thinking about it), it would be great to see a few friendly faces in the audience for what will be our band’s first bar gig.
To those I haven’t spoken to in a while, the background here is that last fall I decided I’d had enough of being a huge music fan who’d never played a lick on any instrument. In what’s become an obsession (though a much healthier one than some other things middle-aged guys do), I play my bass, like, all the time.
If you’ve got nothing better to do and don’t mind spending a couple of hours in a place called Chubby’s, please come see us. I’ll send a reminder closer to Aug. 18.

Still out of town! Ran 12 mi on mountain bike trails in Lake Norman State Park this morning. The heat is killer! I stopped to wring out my socks and a ranger asked if I was “in good shape.” Didn’t know how to answer that! I think he just wanted to know if I was about to die. Be careful tomorrow morning!
P.S. What instrument do you play, Steve?
9 Steve Eisenstadt // Aug 10, 2007 at 11:33 am
I play bass. (Boom boom.)

Great run yesterday, wasn’t sure if I could go the distance with the heat, probably wouldn’t have without some encouragement. Thanks for letting me tag along again. litl’ bit, I did 25 miles on my loaner road bike today, feel pretty good right now, we’ll see how tommorrow morning hit’s me though.
